JOSEPH EVE CPAs Promotes Accounting Supervisor to Manager
JOSEPH EVE CPAs recently promoted Justin Worum, CPA from accounting supervisor to manager. In his new role, Worum will be responsible for training and mentoring staff as well as managing and completing small-to-large audits, complex accounting service and Title 31/AML Compliance engagements. Worum has served in a variety of roles during his nearly six years at JOSEPH EVE, and currently serves as contract controller for one of the firm’s longest-running accounting services clients.
XCM Solutions Names New VP of Sales
XCM Solutions, LLC recently announced the appointment of Marc Montpas as Vice President of Sales. Montpas has 15 years of public accounting experience with both technical and sales leadership expertise, giving him a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities for public accounting professionals. In his new role, Montpas will be responsible for leading and expanding XCM’s sales organization as the company broadens its market position in North America and expands into new markets. He has held several leadership and sales management roles throughout his career. Montpas received his bachelor of arts in Business Economics with an emphasis on Accounting and a Minor in Sports Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Grant Thornton Audit Partner Named NACD Governance Fellow
Grant Thornton LLP recently announced that Dorsey Baskin, managing partner for the firm’s Innovative Services Development practice, has been selected as a governance fellow for the National Association of Corporate Directors. Baskin was selected for his knowledge of leading trends and practices that define exemplary corporate governance. In his current position, Baskin leads Grant Thornton’s innovative services development function, offering assurance and consulting solutions related to emerging trends, legislation and regulation.
Armanino Partner Honored by California State University, Northridge
Armanino LLP recently announced that partner Harvey Bookstein was named as the 2016 honorary doctor of humane letters from California State University, Northridge. Bookstein has previously made a significant gift with his wife to the school’s College of Business and Economics, which led to the establishment of the Harvey Bookstein Chair in Taxation and the Bookstein Institute for Higher Education in Taxation. The institute publishes a tax journal, awards scholarships to deserving students, and provides graduate education in taxation and free tax preparation services to low-income taxpayers in the community through the IRS-recognized CSUN VITA Clinic.
